I like Killing Flies Documentary

I Like Killing Flies

Its a hard documentary to recommend and a harder one not to recommend. That's the restaurant review that this guy normally gets too. Contrary to popular belief, this is NOT about the guy the "soup Nazi" from Seinfeld was based on. That guys name is Al Yeganeh. He runs Soup kitchen International in midtown Manhattan at 259A West 55th Street, near 8th Avenue, and The Original Soup Man chain of restaurants throughout the United States. This documentary is about a guy, Kenny Shopsin, who runs a diner, a run of the mill diner. Or at least I am assuming its a run of the mill diner for NY... I suppose its really not run of the mill. I feel that way because if I owned a diner, I would have rules too. I would regularly throw people out as well. Understand that for me, personally, I do love people. Just because I love people and their stories and their lives doesn't mean I don't occasionally want to strangle them. I feel I can relate to Mr.Shopsin because of that. He seems to love people too, but not tolerate what he perceives as their rudeness. Definitely agree and Definitely worth watching. Great character study. Really... really is an understatement... really messy, dirty, grimy restaurant. That might make you think twice about where you eat. However, I know that my kitchen isn't the cleanest... but certainly cleaner by a long shot than this place. WOW! as far as that goes. True though and I have a huge appreciation for that.

Welcome to Documentary Nut!

I am glad to be here and I am glad you stopped by!
I love documentaries! This is a blog about documentaries, old and new. I am... can be self indulgent at times and this blog is one of those self indulgent lunges for me. Its just my opinion and "take" on the documentaries I have seen. On average I watch at least one documentary a week... sometimes way more. So here is my spill on the stuff and sometimes crap I watch.
Your welcome to chime in at any time!
